A time lapse work in progress of a personal illustration.
I started this one almost a year ago, right at the beginning of the pandemic, and worked on it on my spare time. It was thought as an exercise to try to experiment with different Photoshop brushes but more importantly, with different approaches to digital painting (except for the rough pencil sketch and the pencil portrait that are included in the composition).
The first thing I did different was to skip the color sketch step that I usually take on my work. I went directly from a rough BW sketch to a 3D composition in eon-Vue. There the color palette started to take shape and was refined later on step by step back in Photoshop.
